Leading expert on British piano music known for his chamber duo collaboration with violinist Manoug Parikian.
He began appearing at the Proms in London in 1960.
He became a fixture with the London Philharmonic Orchestra for every year beginning in 1962.
His family lived in Nottingham when he was born.
He performed an all- Frederic Chopin recital for friends and relatives who were gathered to honor his 60th birthday.
