He participated in two International 500-Mile Sweepstakes Races, one in 1932 and one in 1933.

He began his career racing locally in New Jersey before getting a shot to race professionally.

He was unable to finish either of his Indy 500 races, crashing in 1933.

He grew up in Westville, New Jersey.

Al Unser Jr. won the Indy 500 twice during his career.
