ABOUT MANISH JHA
Award-winning Indian director known for A Very Very Silent Film, Anwar, and Matrubhoomi. His films often look at social issues, such as homelessness, racial profiling, and violence against women.
He attended Delhi University, where he studied English and performed in theatre. He spent time working in television prior to making A Very Very Silent Film in 2002.
Along with the Jury Award at the Cannes Film Festival in 2002, he won several awards in 2003 for Matrubhoomi.
He was raised in Delhi, India.
