Virtuoso who specialized in obscure late 19th- and early 20th-century composers like Leo Ornstein and Georgy Catoire.
He studied at Temple University in Philadelphia. He received the Virginia Parker Prize in 1989.
He composed a series of piano études that covered all of the minor keys.
His father was a pharmacist by profession, but a pianist by passion. He introduced his son to composers like Alkan, Godowsky, and Sorabji.
He preferred to perform the works of pianist-composers like Franz Liszt .
