ABOUT MARCEL HALSTENBERG

German professional soccer player who first gained fame as a member of Hannover 96 II and then Borussia Dortmund II. In 2015, he signed with RB Leipzig. He debuted for the Germany national team in 2017. He went on to represent Germany in the UEFA Euro 2020.

He joined Hannover 96's youth system in 1999. Before moving to play defense, he started out as a striker.

He scored his first international goal in a 2019 match against Northern Ireland. His official Facebook page, which features highlights from his soccer career, has gained upwards of 180,000 followers.

He married Franziska Dzienziol in 2017. His brother, Benjamin, has played for SC Wiedenbrück.

He and Konrad Laimer have played together for RB Leipzig.
