ABOUT MARCUS FREEMAN
American football coach who has gained fame as the second African American head coach for the University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish. He briefly played as a linebacker in the NFL before retiring in 2010 due to a heart condition. He has since found success as a coach for a number of college football teams.
He played college football for the Ohio State University Buckeyes from 2004 to 2008.
In 2020, he was named Defensive Coordinator of the Year by 247Sports. He has gained overĀ 80,000 Instagram followers as a result of his football fame.
His father is named Michael and his mother is named Chong. He has an older brother named Michael Jr. He married his wife, Joanna, in 2010. The couple has six children together.
On December 3, 2021, he replaced Brian Kelly as head coach at the University of Notre Dame.
