ABOUT MARGARET DONGO
Zimbabwe politician, and ex-freedom fighter who joined parliament in 1990. She founded the political party known as the Zimbabwe Union of Democrats.
She left secondary school to cross into Mozambique to join the guerrilla forces.
She was an advocate of democracy, human rights, and marginalized groups while in parliament.
Her parents raised her in Harare, Zimbabwe.
She opposed Robert Mugabe in the 1996 presidential election.
