She was a singer before giving birth to James.

She moved to her former husband's home country of Australia to raise her children. James moved to Philippines with his father at age sixteen, leaving her to raise his siblings.

She separated from James' father, Robert Malcolm Reid, when James was two years old.

James' father Robert went on to have six more children named Andrew, Robbie, Tom, Jack , Jenny, and Lauren .
