Mark Bavaro

ABOUT MARK BAVARO

Tight end who won Super Bowls XXI and XXV as a member of the New York Giants. He earned back-to-back All-Pro honors in 1986 and 1987 and was inducted into the New York Giants Ring of Honor in 2011.

He was an All-American at Danvers High School in Danvers, Massachusetts. He later attended the University of Notre Dame and was drafted by the Giants in the fourth round of the 1985 NFL Draft.

In his rookie season at New York, he earned the nickname "Rocky" due to his resemblance to action star Sylvester Stallone .

His younger brother David Bavaro played linebacker in the NFL for four seasons.

He caught passes from quarterback Phil Simms during his years with the Giants.
