ABOUT MARK EATON
Basketball player known for his long career with the Utah Jazz , a team under the National Basketball Association. In 1989, he won NBA Defensive Player of the Year and was listed as an NBA All-Star.
He was initially more interested in water polo than basketball. He studied to be an auto mechanic after he finished school. He grew to be 6'11" by the age of 17.
He founded the Mark Eaton Standing Tall for Youth organization, which helped at risk-children connect with sports and outdoor activities.
His father, Bud, was a 6'9" diesel mechanic. His mother, Delores, was 6 feet fall.
He and John Stockton both played for the Utah Jazz from 1982 to 1993.
