He attended the University of Reading where he studied art & architecture. He was a porter for Bonhams beginning in 1996 before becoming a Junior Cataloguer for the company.
He became an antiques columnist for the Daily Mail.
He resided in London, England with his partner.
He was a presenter alongside Lucy Worsley for BBC2's Antiques Uncovered.
