ABOUT MARK JAY LEVINE

Known for his band Mark Levine & The Latin Tinge. He was nominated for a 2003 Grammy for Isla in the Best Latin Jazz Recording category.

He was graduated with a music degree from Boston University in 1960.

He attempted to make a living as a valve trombonist instead of as a pianist, but eventually returned to his original instrument to get more work.

His family was living in Concord, New Hampshire, when he was born.

He collaborated with numerous musicians throughout his career, including Dizzy Gillespie .
