ABOUT MARKO TAJCEVIC

Musician whose small, well-crafted oeuvre consisted of 54 compositions for solo, choir, chamber orchestra, strings, piano, and woodwinds.

He took his musical education to Prague in 1920, where the culture enabled him to develop his knowledge in all areas. He studied composition under Vaclav Stepan.

He was a teacher in Zagreb from 1924 until 1940 and helped found the Lisinski Music School.

His family was residing in Osijek, Kingdom of Croatia-Slavonia, Austro-Hungarian Empire, when he was born. He started studying violin at the Croatian Music Institution when World War I began.

He drew inspiration from Johann Sebastian Bach 's compositions.
