ABOUT MARVIN HAGLER
American boxer who reigned as undisputed middleweight champion from 1980 to 1987. He compiled a remarkable 62-3-2 record across his historic career and Boxing Illustrated named him as the Fighter of the Decade for the 1980s. He died of natural causes at the age of 66.
His home was destroyed during the Newark Riots, which prompted his move to Massachusetts.
He legally changed his first name to Marvelous after becoming upset that the announcers never referred to him as Marvelous as he had asked. He was involved in two draws during his career.
Had four children with his first wife and later married Kaye Guarrera.
He was a famous boxer much like Sugar Ray Robinson .
