ABOUT MASABUMI KIKUCHI
Legendary jazz artist with a breathtaking range, mastering post-bop, vanguard classical, fusion, solo synthesizer, and digital dub.
He was awarded a full scholarship to the Berklee College of Music after entering a Down Beat magazine contest for overseas musicians.
He was especially prolific during the 1970-1979 period, working as a recording artist, sideman, and featured guest for numerous bands and artists.
His family was living in Tokyo when he was born, and he later attended the Tokyo Art College High School.
He became close friends with Miles Davis during their many collaborations, a relationship that continued even after the trumpeter retired.
