ABOUT MATTHEW FISHER

Best known for playing the Hammond organ on A Whiter Shade of Pale, the #1 1967 Procol Harum hit.

He was originally a bassist but switched to the organ after hearing the band The Animals.

He produced albums for Robin Trower r like 1974's Bridge of Sighs and 1975's For Earth Below, both of which went Gold.

His father died in 1965, which almost prompted him to leave Procol Harum.

He played alongside guitarist Ritchie Blackmore in the band The Savages.
