He began developing his passion for playing the guitar at the age of fourteen.
His band was once called Jeff Killed John.
In 2010, he and his girlfriend Charlotte Beedell welcomed a son named Evann. In 2013, the couple married. They divorced in 2016.
He and Michael Paget have played together in Bullet for My Valentine.
