ABOUT MAURICE STARR

Music producer best known for his work with the infamous boy band, New Edition. He's also responsible for forming the boy band, New Kids on the Block. He's worked with other successful artists such as Perfect Gentleman, Rick Wes and Tommy Page and Ana Rodriguez .

He discovered the band New Edition on his talent show in 1982 and co-wrote their debut album.

He enjoyed a solo career and was a member of The Johnson Brothers band.

He was born Larry Curtis Johnson in Deland, Florida. He has also lived in Boston, Massachusetts.

He appeared in BET's mini-series The New Edition Story starring Michael Bivins .
