Max Sandlin
ABOUT MAX SANDLIN
Democratic Congressman who represented Texas's 1st district from 1997 to 2005 in the U.S. House of Representatives.
He graduated from both Baylor University and the Baylor University School of Law.
He was a member of the Blue Dog Coalition, a caucus of U.S. Congressional Representatives from the Democratic Party who identified themselves as moderates and conservatives. He also served as Chairman of the coalition's Energy Task Force.
He married former U.S. Representative Stephanie Herseth Sandlin. The couple raised five children.
He and his conservative counterpart, Lamar Seeligson Smith , both represented Texas in the U.S. House of Representatives.
