ABOUT MEL TIANGCO

Famous for hosting the GMA Network programs Magpakailanman and Mel & Joey, she is also well known as the co-anchor of the Philippines' 24 Oras news broadcast.

Early in her career, she anchored RPN's NewsWatch program.

A philanthropist as well as a television personality, she held an executive position with a public outreach organization called the GMA Kapuso Foundation.

Her son, Wency Cornejo, fronted the 1990s Philippine rock group After Image.

She and comedian Joey de Leon launched their Mel & Joey talk show in 2004.
