ABOUT MICHAEL HAUGHTON

Most well known as the father of late R&B singer Aaliyah and filmmaker Rashad Haughton .

When Aaliyah was five, the family moved to Detroit, where he began working in the warehouse business.

During Aaliyah's musical career, he worked as her personal manager. However, he would later stop after he was stricken with illness.

He passed away in 2012 and was buried alongside his daughter. His wife, Diane, planned to do the same upon her death.

He was briefly the father-in-law of R. Kelly from 1994 to 1995.
