ABOUT MICHAEL LANG
Known best as a creator and producer of the Woodstock Music and Art Festival, Lang also founded a music label called Just Sunshine Records and produced numerous music events and film projects through his Michael Lang Organization. He was also involved in the follow-up events Woodstock '94 and Woodstock '99.
After briefly studying at New York University, he established a tobacco store in Coconut Grove, Florida, and subsequently produced the Miami Pop Festival of 1968.
He helped produce director Wes Anderson 's 1990s movie Bottle Rocket. He passed away at the age of 77 after a battle with cancer.
He was raised in a Jewish family in Brooklyn, New York. His marriage resulted in five children, including twin daughters named LariAnn and Shala.
He produced a Delta blues album by the guitarist and singer known as "Mississippi Fred McDowell ."
