ABOUT MICHAEL RAUCHEISEN
Musician who would accompany singers with the piano lid open to achieve better tonal balance. He created complete gramophone recordings of German songs.
He was first violinist for the Prinzregententheater and organist for St. Michael in 1906.
He was suspected of collusion with the Nazi regime following the end of World War II and was banned from working.
His family left their small town for Munich so that their son could develop his musical talents at the Munich High School for Music.
He and fellow German musician Carl Friedberg were contemporaries.
