ABOUT MIKE JOHNSON

Former Louisiana state senator who served in the Louisiana House of Representatives from 2015 until 2017. A few years later, he began serving as the Chair of the Republican Study Committee and the Vice Chair of the House Republican Conference. In 2023, he was named Leader of the House Republican Conference and the 56th Speaker of the United States House of Representatives.

Prior to his political career, he attended Louisiana State University . Shortly after graduating, he began working as a private attorney.

Often cited for his extreme views, he has openly said that he believes that the teachings of human evolution have led to an increase in mass shootings. He even once said that raising the United States minimum wage law should be opposed by all.

He and his wife, Kelly, initially got married in the year of 1999. Together, they have four children.

During his presidency, he was a huge supporter of Donald Trump .
