ABOUT MIKE THACKWELL

Versatile driver who competed in many series, including Formula One.

He began racing karts and motorcycles when he was a very young boy.

He made his first Formula One start when he was just 19, becoming the second-youngest driver to ever race in a Grand Prix.

His father, Ray Thackwell, was a professional racer as well.

In 1984 he raced in the CART series, as a Team Penske replacement for Rick Mears .
