ABOUT MIKE TODD
Producer of the 1956 film Around the World in 80 Days. It won the Academy Award for Best Picture. He worked on a number of Broadway production, including Up in Central Park in 1945.
He made a fortune in construction before the Great Depression and lost everything in the crash, all before turning 21.
His first production was inspired by a performance of The Swing Mikado, which he saw with an all-black cast. It is thought that the novel My Name Is Morgan is based on his life.
He was married to Elizabeth Taylor for around one year, from 1957 to 1958, when he died.
He collaborated on Around the World in 80 Days with David Niven .
