ABOUT MIKE WATT

Co-founder of the rock band The Minutemen who also performed with Firehose and who released a solo album.

He performed with The Minutemen for six years until one of their own, D Boon, was killed in a traffic accident, and the band split up.

Though preferring to work out of the public eye, his influence can be gauged by the dedication of the Red Hot Chili Peppers' album Blood Sugar Sex Magik to him.

Born in Portsmouth, Virginia, his family moved to Southern California when he was young.

He helped revive The Stooges, Iggy Pop's proto-punk band.
