Prolific animator recognized as one of Disney's Nine Old Men. He worked on such Disney films as Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs, Bambi, and Lady and the Tramp.

He was a completely self-taught artist.

His angular style of drawing was inspired by the work of Pablo Picasso .

He was born in San Francisco, California.

He was celebrated by Walt Disney as one of the most skilled draughtsmen of his time.
