ABOUT MIUCCIA PRADA
Italian fashion designer who rose to fame as the granddaughter of Prada founder Mario Prada. She eventually became the head designer of Prada. She later founded the Prada subsidiary, Miu Miu.
She earned a Ph.D. in political science, after which she performed as a mime for five years.
She was listed as one of the 50 best-dressed over 50 by The Guardian in 2013. She was awarded the Woman of the Year Award by Glamour, USA.
She and her husband Patrizio Bertelli took over the Prada family business in 1978.
She collected contemporary art from artists like Damien Hirst .
