Republican politician who served in the Kansas House of Representatives from 1967 to 1973. He ran for governor in the 1972 Kansas Gubernatorial race, losing to incumbent Governor Robert Docking.

He attended Kansas State University and was the captain of the 1953 Kansas Jayhawks. He served in the U.S. Army and was an insurance executive.

He was the chairman of the Kansas Republican Party from 1979 to 1982.

He was born in St. John, Kansas. He is married to Sally Marmon.

He and Sam Brownback were both politicians from Kansas.
