ABOUT MURIEL BOWSER
Politician who was elected mayor of the District of Columbia in 2015. She became the first African-American woman to secure three consecutive terms as mayor of an American city. She is a member of the Democratic Party.
She graduated from Chatham College in Pittsburgh with a bachelor's degree in history.
She has served her hometown in elected office since 2004 as Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner. She was also a Member of the DC Council from 2007 to 2015.
She attended many official functions with The Real Housewives of D.C. star Jason Turner. Her parents are Joe and Joan Bowser. She was the youngest of six children.
In 2020, she criticized Donald Trump when he deployed federal law enforcement officers and activated the D.C. National Guard to combat protests.
