ABOUT MURRAY MCLACHLAN
Known for his masterful recordings of Russian musicians like Prokofiev, Kabalevsky, Vainberg, Shchedrin, and Tcherepnin.
He studied at Chetham's School of Music and Cambridge University, being instructed by such luminaries as Peter Katin , Ronald Stevenson, and Norma Fisher.
He collaborated with jazz saxophonist Tommy Smith on a crossover album.
His family was residing in Dundee, Scotland, when he was born.
He performed George Gershwin 's Rhapsody in Blue as the last 20th-century concerto performance in the Royal Albert Hall. He played with the BBC Concert Orchestra under conductor Christopher Warren-Green.
