Nazareth Mitrou-Long

ABOUT NAZARETH MITROU-LONG

Iowa State University basketball player who would become one the best shooters in the Big 12 conference as well as one of the conference's most clutch shooters.

He chose to play basketball over kickboxing as a youth, electing to take a different route than his father.

As a sophomore, he hit a game-tying shot in the second overtime of what would become a triple-overtime victory against Oklahoma State. That same season, in the second game between the two schools, he hit another buzzer-beating 3-pointer to send that game to overtime.

His father is professional kickboxer Jersey Long. He was born in Mississauga, Ontario with a full name of Nazareth Jersey Mitrou-Long.

He played AAU basketball with NBA players Andrew Wiggins , Anthony Bennett and Cory Joseph .
