ABOUT NIKOLAI TISHCHENKO
Soviet defender who played with FC Spartak Moscow and the USSR national team. He was part of the squad that won the gold medal at the 1956 Olympic Games in Melbourne, Australia.
He began his career playing with FC Spartak Moscow in 1951. He made his international debut with the USSR in 1954 in a friendly match against Sweden.
He broke his clavicle during the semi-finals against Bulgaria during the 1956 Olympics. Substitutions were not yet allowed and he played the rest of the match.
He was born in Lyublino, Russian SFSR, USSR. He died in Moscow.
He played with Lev Yashin on the USSR national team.
