ABOUT NIKOS DABIZAS

Centre back who played for Newcastle United, Leicester City, Olympiacos, and Larissa.

He became a member of Pontioi Verias in 1991 when he was 18, leaving the team for Olympiacos in 1994 when he was 21.

He made 70 appearances with the Greek national team from 1994 until 2004 and helped Greece win the 2004 European Football Championship.

In his teens, he worked in his father's company and never planned on becoming a professional soccer player.

He played alongside Akis Zikos on the Greek national team.
