ABOUT NOBUHIRO WATSUKI

Japanese cartoonist best known for his Rurouni Kenshin samurai manga series. He based many of his primary and secondary manga characters on actual people, including famous samurai warriors and politicians.

During his high school years, he won an award for Podmark, his earliest manga.

He published a manga titled Crescent Moon in the Warring States.

His wife, Kaoru Kurosaki, served as curator of his 2013 American exhibition.

One of his manga characters, Gein, was inspired by the infamous American murderer Ed Gein .
