ABOUT NWANKWO KANU

Captain of the Nigerian national team from 1994-2010, he was a 2-time African Player of the Year, and UNICEF ambassador.

He was signed by Dutch Eredivisie AFC Ajax in 1993 after his performance at the Under-17 World Championships.

He is one of the only players in history to have won the Premier League, FA Cup, Champions League, UEFA Cup and an Olympic Gold Medal.

His brother is Nigerian defender Christopher Kanu.

He and Mikel Obi have both been members of the Nigerian national team.
