ABOUT ODESSA GRADY CLAY

Mother of heavyweight boxing legend Muhammad Ali . A devout Baptist, she raised her son, who later converted to Islam, in the Christian faith.

She was raised in a family of six in Hopkins County, Kentucky.

She was known for being a ring-side supporter of her son during most of his competitions.

She had two children with Cassius Clay, Sr.: Muhammad Ali, born Cassius Marcellus Clay, Jr. and Rahman Ali , born Rudolph Valentino Clay.

She appeared in a documentary about her son's life entitled Muhammad Ali : The Whole Story.
