ABOUT OMAR ABDEL AZIZ SHARAF

Career diplomat from Egypt who served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for almost forty years. He represented Egypt as an ambassador to China, Sweden, and the Arab League.

He received his law degree from Cairo University in 1947. In 1951 he became the Third Secretary of the Legation of the Kingdom of Egypt at Moscow.

He was a recipient of the Order of Merit and Order of the Republic in Egypt.

He and his wife Noha Elwi had three children. His son Karim became a diplomat.

He served under famous Egyptian president, Hosni Mubarak .
