Indonesian singer and former lead vocalist of Dewa 19 who is best known his singles "Dealova," "Kangen" and "Symphoni Yang Indah." His Instagram account oncemekelofficial has gained over 350,000 followers.
He began singing while attending Tirta Marta Junior High School.
Due to a problem with his voice box, he took a hiatus from singing between 1993 and 1997. In 1996, he graduated from the University of Indonesia with a law degree.
He has a sister named Nova B. Mekel. In 2005, he married Rietma Dhanty Angelica Immaculata Tauchid. They had a son named Manuel Mekel.
In 2000, he replaced Ari Lasso , the former lead singer of Dewa 19.
