ABOUT OTAKAR HOLLMANN
Respected musician known for specializing in repertoire for left-handed pianists. He was considered to be one of the greatest pianists of his time.
He served in World War I, during which a bullet shot through the palm of his right hand injuring the metacarpus and destroying his plans for a career as a violinist.
He commissioned many works, including compositions by Josef Bohuslav Foerster, Václav Kaprál, and Jarmil Burghauser.
His family noticed his musical talents when he was young and entered him into violin lessons early on.
He and fellow classical musician Karl Ulrich Schnabel were contemporaries.
