She attended McDonogh School in Owings Mills, Maryland.

She won a women's doubles gold medal at the 1988 Olympic Games and achieved 133 top-level titles in the 1980s and 1990s.

She had two children with ex-husband and former James Bond George Lazenby .

Her fourth cousin, Maria Shriver , was a former first lady of California and a member of the Kennedy clan.
