One of Australia's most famous motor racing drivers, he was a 9-time Bathurst 1000 winner, and a 9-time Sandown 500 winner.

He was a Private in the Australian Army during the mid-60's.

He went by a variety of nicknames, including The King of the Mountain, Peter Perfect, Brocky, and The Bradman of Bathurst.

He had a 28-year relationship with Bev McIntosh.

His nickname The Bradman of Bathurst was inspired by record-breaking cricketer Donald Bradman .
