ABOUT PETER WERNER

American director who rose to fame on the back of his 1976 short film In the Region of Ice, based on the short story of the same name by Joyce Carol Oates . In the 1980s and 1990s, he directed episodes of Moonlighting , The Wonder Years , and A Different World . His television film credits include Battered, I Married a Centerfold, and LBJ: The Early Years.

He worked as a teacher before launching his career as a director.

He won an Academy Award for his short film In the Region of Ice. He also won a Peabody Award for his docudrama film LBJ: The Early Years.

His brother Tom is a television producer.

He worked with actor Fred Savage when he directed a 1990 episode of The Wonder Years.
