ABOUT PETR YAN

Bantamweight fighter who has risen to his fame for his career in the UFC, where he signed in June 2018. He won the Fight of the Night honor in his second ever bout with the promotion in September 2018 in a victory over Jin Soo Son.

He graduated from Siberian Federal University with his degree in physical culture and sport. He initially began his fighting career as a boxer, where he achieved the ranking of master in sport as a 64kg competitor.

He won the Absolute Championship Berkut bantamweight title in April 2017. He successfully defended his title in one bout before signing his UFC contract.

He has one older brother, with whom he began his boxing training at an early age.

He defeated Douglas Silva de Andrade at UFC 232 in a lead-up fight to Jon Jones ' headliner win for the light heavyweight title.
