ABOUT PHIL GINGREY

Republican politician who became the U.S. Representative for Georgia's 11th congressional district in 2003. He became an official candidate in the 2014 race for Georgia's position in the U.S. Senate.

He received a bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Georgia Tech in 1965, and attended Medical College of Georgia before working as an obstetrician.

He is a founding member of the GOP Doctors Caucus, a group of health care providers in the House of Representatives.

He has four children with his wife Billie. Their names are Billy
Gannon, Phyllis, Laura, and Neill.

He got into a feud with radio host Rush Limbaugh in 2009 over comments Limbaugh had made about the Republican leadership appeasing to Obama.
