ABOUT PHIL LESH
Bassist for The Grateful Dead, the group known for songs like "Truckin'" and "Ripple," and who also played with The Other Ones. In 2020, Rolling Stone ranked him the 11th greatest bass player.
He started out as a violinist, switched to trumpet, and was finally coaxed into playing bass by Jerry Garcia .
He created the side project, Phil Lesh and Friends. He played with the Grateful Dead throughout 30 years of their career.
He is the godfather of Courtney Love .
He has performed with Furthur, alongside former Grateful Dead bandmate Bob Weir .
