ABOUT KING CHARLES III
Became King of the United Kingdom in September 2022, following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II . He was crowned May 6th, 2023. Prior to becoming king, he was the prince of Wales and he was the longest-serving heir apparent in British history as well as the oldest heir apparent in over 300 years. He was married to Diana, Princess of Wales from 1981 to 1996, then he married Camilla Parker Bowles in 2005. He was diagnosed with cancer in early 2024.
He broke tradition by attending Trinity College at Cambridge University for his secondary education rather than receiving a private education and joining the armed forces.
The Scottish referred to him as the Duke of Rothesay and the Southern English knew him as the Duke of Cornwall; he became the longest serving heir-apparent in British history.
He is the former husband of Princess Diana , and his sons are Prince William and Prince Harry . He married Camilla Parker Bowles in 2005.
His father was Prince Philip and he was raised alongside three siblings: Anne , Andrew , and Edward .
