ABOUT QUBAD TALABANI
Politician who has risen to fame as the deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, a post he was elected to in 2014. He previously served as the Kurdistan Regional Government's envoy to the United States.
While born in Syria, he was raised in Surrey, England with his grandparents. He graduated with his bachelor's of science degree from Kingston University in London in mechanical engineering.
He served as a leading negotiator for Iraq's first constitutional drafting in 2003 following the overthrow of Saddam Hussein. He was later appointed as the first representative of the autonomous Kurdistan region.
His father is former Iraqi president Jalal Talabani. His older brother is politician Bafel Talabani.
He served as a liaison between Iraq and the US during George W. Bush 's tenure as president.
