Retired mixed martial arts fighter who was a three-time UFC Heavyweight Champion and two-time UFC Light Heavyweight Champion.

After winning the state championship in wrestling his senior year, he joined the Army.

His nicknames were The Natural and Captain America.

He has three ex-wives named Sharon, Tricia and Kim. His son Randy became an MMA fighter and he also has another son named Caden and a daughter named Aimee. He began a relationship with Mindy Robinson in 2014. Robinson announced their separation on Facebook in February 2025.

He fought in a trilogy of UFC Light Heavyweight Championship matches against Chuck Liddell in which each was decided by knockout, Liddell winning 2 out of 3.
